STILL madly busy at work so have done little on the book. Spent an afternoon fiddling with the bike - put on the new mudguards and new carriers. Also retaped the handlebars.
It's amazing how much difference some nice sort cork tape makes - after the thin 25-year-old vinyl stuff it adds a real air of luxury.
The Madison carriers I picked up cheap from SJS cycles fitted OK, although my bike doesn't have stay fittings so I needed a couple of clips. The Madison front carrier arrived without all the fittings and no instructions. I think they were a return to SJS and they hadn't checked it before sending them out again.
I haven't tried the carriers weighted up yet but they seem to be of similar quality to the Tortec Expedition alloy models - just about £15 cheaper per rack.
Now the magazine is out of the way I am getting really excited about the cycling again. SInce we aren't moving house until late may I should be able to get a couple of rides in before then
