Although not a specialist cycling top, this has become my shell of choice for touring in Ireland. It is slightly warmer than a conventional cycling jacket - but this is rarely a problem in Ireland where cold & wet is more likely than warm and wet. It wicks moisture away brilliantly. And if you get too warm, the side zips wil let the cool air in without getting you too damp. A really thin baselayer is fine for warmer days and a thicker one when it's cold makes up a versatile cycling outfit which doesn't make you feel like you are wearing a plastic bag.
The smock is normal looking enough to wear in the pub and it doubles as an extra sweater for the evenings.
The two minor problems are is that it is slightly baggier than a cycling jacket - so there is a bit of flapping - and the neck zip isn't quite big enough to get it on without taking off your helmet. But these are minor problems made up for by miles of warm, dry and rustle-free riding.
