These cost more than my bike so I expected them to be good - and they are.
After a severe bashing of over 4000 miles with 20kg of camping gear they are still running nice and true and the spoke tension is still even.
A great buy!
If you are camping you will have to take some sort of fire-lighting equipment with you. I have long-since given up on matches and all I take with me now is this nifty piece of gear from Sweden.
In these eco-friendly days I have never actually lit a fire with it but it lights any stove - alcohol or gas - with an unerringy spectacular shower of sparks. I've had mine for five or six years and they seem to last practically forever.
As you tour around Ireland you will probably soon get sick of the piped 'traditional' music you hear blasting out in shops and tourist offices (Sneem - you are the worst of many offenders, shame on you). So here are some brilliant, fungus free, alternatives for you iPod:
This Charming Man - The Smiths. Why: "Punctured bicycle/on a hillside desolate/will Nature make a man of me yet?
Why Does it Always Rain on Me - Travis. Why: Do I need to say more?
Just when I needed you most - Dolly Parton.
Why: "Yes you left me, just when I needed you most..." was actually written about Dublin cyclepaths and their habit of stopping just before junctions and roundabouts.
I Can See Clearly Now the Rain Has Gone - Johnny Nash. Why: Obvious!
Bicycle Song - Red Hot Chilli Peppers: Why:
Enigmatic song with upbeat melody and downbeat lyrics.
