Cycletouring in Ireland

I had high hopes for these tyres but I have to say they are not up to the job of loaded touring. I got about 300km out of the rear and about 800km out the front before, in both cases, the sidewalls split and the tyre blew out rather noisily. This was while cyclecamping in Ireland with about 18-20kg of gear, spread between front and rear panniers, all on surfaced roads (albeit a bit rough). I was running at the recommended pressure which was checked daily.
